Overdue Explanation?

A few of you have recently said that you just now figured out what the name of my blog means. Here I thought I was so clever thinking of a name that includes me and my little family. As it turns out, it's actually more of a brain teaser. Shoot.

So when I was thinking of a name for my blog, I had considered what I wanted my blog to be about. I figured it'd be about who I am and what my day to day life is all about. Well I wouldn't be who I am today though if it weren't for my husband and kids. Plus it's a great way to post updates of my kids for our family.

So my blog is about my life as it is with my 3 D's in it. My husband, Devin; son, Deagen; and daughter, Dailyn. Which is why I emphasized the D's in their nicknames; D Hubs, D Boy, and D Girl.

Clear as mud? Hope not!

Have I told you guys what's up with all of the D names anyway? I believe I have, but that was my very first post. You know, back when the only audience I had was my family and a couple of real life friends. So in case you don't want to check out my first post, I'll tell ya again what the scoop is with the D names.

D Hubs and I thought it'd be cool to continue his family tradition of exclusive D names. His family has used up pretty much all of the traditional D names. So we went with untraditional. Which is what I'd prefer anyway. I have to say it was much easier picking out names when I was limited to a certain letter it had to start with. I'm not sure I would've been able to pick a name by the time they were born otherwise! Anyway, so our kids make the 4th generation of the D name tradition.

I hope that answers some questions!

What's stupid is it took me being friends with you on FB to figure it out. D hubs and D boy and D girl weren't enough of a hint for me....I'm slow...

ughhhh I DIDN'T get it! So clever! And what a cool tradition for all Dnames to go through generations!

Ha -- I always liked your blog title AND the fact that you refered to the fam as D boy and D girl. However, I never picked up on the connection! *whacks forehead with palm of hand.*

I'm so glad I helped to inspire a blog post! Hahaha!!! And it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that it was NOT just me. I'm like validated or something. NOT a blonde moment!!! YAY!!! Thanks for the explain.

And my family names all of their girls with Marie in the middle name...well, except for me. My mom is SUCH a rebel. I LOVE both of your babies' names and I agree...narrowing it down to one letter would make the task less daunting.

Very cute. I'm sad to say I never actually put that much thought in to the 3Ds. Interesting to know they are a 4th generation of Ds! Love the kids names. Definitely original.

Love that! There aren't really any traditions in my family, except it does look like my Parent's started on a "S" tradition and then changed their mind when my baby brother came along. My Dad's name is Samuel, my name is Samantha and my brother's first name is Samuel and then my baby brother's name is John. Where did that J come from? lol...

I just picked out Bree's name b/c I thought it was pretty :) Instead everyone refers to her name, "Like the cheese".

So glad you were able to clarify that. I kind of suspected as much, but never went out and said it. You are quite clever.

Very cool! My hubby and I had such a hard time coming up with names we agreed on. He is so boring in his name choices, I prefer unusual names, but not something totally outrageous...like apple? coco? HA. We ended up with fairly traditional names but not too boring!

I love the names you chose for your kids!

I can't wait to break J's family string of J names. Why? Because I'm a C! I'd be an outcast :)
